Bamboo Fabrics – General Information
Please Note: Bamboo Fabric takes approximately 4 to 5 washes to reach its maximum absorbancy.
In various tests, bamboo fibre has been found to be approximately 60% more water absorbent than cotton. This natural fiber is hypoallergenic, meaning it has a decreased tendency to cause allergies.
Bamboo fabric has an unusual level of breathe ability, making it incredibly cool and comfortable to wear. This is because the cross-section of the bamboo fiber is filled with various micro-gaps and micro-holes, giving it much better absorption and ventilation. With this unique micro structure, bamboo fiber apparel can absorb and evaporate baby drool and sweat very quickly.
Bamboo is highly water absorbent, able to take up three times its weight in water.
Bamboo also has antibacterial qualities, which bamboo fabric is able to retain, even through multiple washings. This helps to reduce bacteria that thrive on clothing and cause unpleasant odours. It can also kill odour causing bacteria that live on the skin In addition, bamboo fabric has insulating properties and will keep bub cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
Bamboo French Terry
Super soft and extremely comfortable. French terry is perfect for infant and children’s wear, layette, cloth diapers, wipes, bibs and so much more. Creamy natural color.
Note: French terry is NOT a loop terry like bath toweling. The right side of the fabric is smooth. The back side has small loops that lay flush with the fabric surface, giving a textured appearance.
- 70% bamboo viscose 30% certified organic cotton.
Machine wash and dry like a cotton fabric.
Bamboo Towelling – Single and Double Sided
Single sided terry is ultra-soft. It has bamboo organic cotton loops on one side. This knit is made up of 28% organic cotton and a base of 2% polyester and 70% Bamboo 240gsm for fast drying absorbency.
Double sided terry is thicker than the single terry, but thinner than standard bath towels with all the same great qualities.
100% Polyester. Superfine, snuggly soft, lovely and thin so doesn’t add weight or bulk to your bib.
Microfleece is used as the layer closest to baby’s skin. It does not absorb any moisture, but instead wicks it through into the absorbent part of the bib, and away from baby’s skin. Because it does not absorb moisture, it feels dry, keeping baby’s skin dry.
